Are your ladies in need of a stud this breeding season, but you don’t have the housing for one, or straight up don’t want to deal with that musty buck smell at your farm? Well we are here to help!
We offer our bucks for stud service to fellow goat herders who want their does bred but don’t want to deal with bucky nonsense all year!
At Little Foot Farm, we raise Kinder goats, a dual purpose breed originating from Nubian and Pygmy goats. This relatively new breed is renowned for their excellent meat production, as well as producing a high milk volume with a increased percentage of butterfat compared to ADGA breeds. In our herd, we breed for KGBA standard conformation; a strong, wide set body; a smoothly transitioned, level topline; correct leg to hoof positioning, and moderately heavy muscling from nose to tail. We also focus on milk production, breeding for high udder capacity with large, uniform, and easily milkable teats.
Both of our current bucks are very mild-mannered with gentle temperaments. Especially when raising large-breed goats, we believe one of the most important qualities in a buck is his manners. We focus on gentle, sweet temperaments to ensure our bucks don’t pass on genes for aggressive, unpredictable and dangerous offspring.
The Bucks
Adelow Farms Dewey out of Hope Hill Farm Daphne by Kinder Korner Waffles is a 6th generation registered & proven Kinder buck, born March 19, 2023. He is a very solid, muscular man, measuring approximately 29″ at the withers, and weighing in at about 155lbs. Dewey scored a 4.5/5 during his KGBA professional evaluation and is a great option to add strong conformation genes to your herd!
Kikobian Kinders Appalachia Orion out of Kikobian Kinders Ursa Minor by Kikobian Kinders Appalachia Storm is a 4th generation registered & proven kinder buck, born February 21, 2023. Orion is smaller framed, measuring about 24″ at the withers and weighing about 100lb. Although he is smaller in size, he packs a lot of color in his genetics! He has thrown kids of all different colors, from roans, and moonspots, to solid base colors with all sorts of markings. Due to his smaller size, Orion would be an optimal choice for those looking to breed smaller framed does, or even crossbreeding to small breed goats (pygmy, Nigerian dwarf, etc).
How it works
Reach out and let us know if you are interested in using either of our bucks to service your does. Please let us know which buck your’re interested in, how many does you would like serviced, and when you would like to arrange the meeting! We are happy to work with your schedule as much as we can.
Driveway Breeding: We currently offer driveway breedings, where you can bring your doe(s) to our bucks while they are in active heat, leave them for a couple hours, and then bring them back home. Breeding fee is $50.00 per doe.
Temporary Board: We are open to discussing temporary board, where you can leave your doe(s) with our bucks for 22-45 days. This option is ideal for those that aren’t able to keep track of when their does cycle, and provides higher chances of conception due to prolonged exposure to the buck. We offer a 22 day stay, which is long enough to ensure your doe will cycle at least once while they are exposed, or a 45 day stay, which covers 2 cycles; in case the first breeding didn’t take. This option is only available for up to 5 does at a time due to our limited space. Pricing depends on length of stay and number of does. Breeding fee is $50.00 per doe, board & feed are additional.
