Meat & Fiber

Our Kinder goats are raised on open pasture with access to browse on all sorts of plants. During the winter they are fed hay and other forage based supplements until the grass grows back in the spring. This results in flavorful, tender meat that’s both healthy and humanely produced.

Whole or Half Shares

For those who prefer to stock their freezer, whole or half goat shares are occasionally available by request.

Availability varies based on the number of kids born each spring, and each season may look a little different. For the best carcass yield, we recommend allowing goats to grow out for 12–14 months before processing.

Reservations for whole or half shares start in April-May 2026.

  • Freezer Kid Flat rate (You purchase the goat at 4-6 months old and finish them yourself. Kids weigh between 65-80lbs on average) $400.00
  • Half share prices vary based on target weight and age of the animal. To reserve a half share goat, we require a $175.00 non-refundable deposit up front. Then, once animal reaches slaughter weight at around 100lbs or 12 months old, we will schedule their processing date. We will let you know when they will be processed, and you will pay half of the butcher/processing cost directly to the facility. When you pay for the processing fee, you will also discuss with the butcher what exact cuts you would like. Then, we will bring the animal(s) to their appointment to be processed. Once it is finished, we will let you know the total hanging weight for your half share, and your $175.00 deposit will be applied to your final order. Pickup time can be scheduled during our open hours. Pricing per pound is based on the hanging carcass weight after slaughtering.
    • Half share of a 12-14 month old at about 100-120lb live weight: $11.00/lb. hanging
    • Whole share/On-Farm Grow Out: $10.00/lb hanging weight plus grow out fee, see details below.

*All goats are 100% grass-fed on pasture, high quality hay, and supplemental grain.

*Buyers are encouraged to finish growing out their selected kid after weaning or at 4–6 months of age. If you prefer that we continue raising the goat to processing age/weight, an additional fee per month will apply to cover feed and extended care.

Our Custom Grow-Out Program

  • Step 1: Reserve Your Kid ($400). This is non-refundable and secures your 100% grass-fed goat. This initial payment covers the base value of the goat and its care through its first 6 months.
  • Step 2: The Grow-Out ($35/month). We provide professional herd management, rotational grazing, and daily care while your goat matures to your desired weight (typically 10-12 months for about 100lbs).
  • Step 3: Harvest ($10/lb carcass weight). Once finished, your goat is weighed at the butcher. Your final meat payment is calculated at $10/lb, with your initial $400 credited toward this balance.***
  • Step 4: Custom Processing. You pay the butcher’s fee and provide your own cut sheet so your meat is packaged exactly how you like it (roasts, chops, or ground, etc).

***The initial $400 payment covers the base value of the animal and its initial raising costs. It is credited toward the final carcass weight price, but no refunds are issued if the meat value falls below this base amount.
