Hoof Trimming (Goats, Sheep, Alpacas, and Pigs)
Routine hoof care helps prevent lameness, infection, and long-term joint issues. I trim using low-stress handling methods, and owners are welcome to assist or observe.
Species & Pricing:
- Goats & Sheep: $20/head
- Alpacas: $30/head
- Pigs (Potbelly, miniature): $40/head (owners must be able to safely catch and/or restrain their pig)
Capacity:
- Typically up to 10 animals per hour, depending on condition.
- Larger numbers (up to ~20) can be scheduled for extended appointments.
Small-Scale Shearing
Ideal for backyard flocks, hobby farms, and small breeders. I specialize in gentle, patient shearing to reduce stress and risk of injury.
Pricing:
- $20/head
- Maximum 5 sheep per appointment
- I do not skirt fleeces unless the owner opts to leave them with me.
Show Fitting & Show Clipping
Professional-quality fitting for show lambs and goats, from youth shows to county fairs.
Sheep Show Prep
- Wool Breeds – Boxing: $60/head
- Additional fee may apply for heavily soiled fleece.
- Meat Breeds – Slickshorn: $50/head
- Optional washing: +$30/head
Goat Show Prep
- Slickshorn Clipping: $70/head
- Optional washing: +$30/head
Limits:
- Show prep appointments are time-intensive; I book no more than 3 animals per day.
Travel Fees
- $20 — within 10 miles
- $50 — 11–30 miles
- $100 — 31–70 miles
- Distances beyond 70 miles can be discussed
- Travel fee may be waived for farms with 20+ animals, depending on distance
